A 28-year-old Oshawa man is useless following a head-on collision in Whitby Friday evening.
Emergency crews have been referred to as to Victoria Avenue East, simply west of Thickson Street South, simply after 7 p.m. for studies of a crash.
Police stated the person, who was driving a black Honda, was travelling west on Victoria Avenue when it collided head-on with an eastbound Durham Area Transit bus.
The person was pronounced useless on the scene, police stated.
The male driver of the bus was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening accidents. Police stated there have been no passengers on the bus.
“Now we have launched an inner investigation into the matter, per customary working process. Given the character of this ongoing police investigation, DRT just isn’t ready to touch upon the specifics of the tragic incident,” the transit company stated in an announcement.
Victoria Avenue East is closed from Hopkins to South Blair streets for investigation.
Police stated the closure is anticipated to final for hours.
Ontario Provincial Police Sgt. Kerry Schmidt stated the motive force of the automotive was concerned in 4 separate crashes on Freeway 401 earlier than 7 p.m.
“Because the automobile entered onto 401 westbound, it was concerned in a number of fail-to-remain collisions between Simcoe Avenue and Thickson Street,” Schmidt stated.
All accidents within the crashes have been minor. The OPP is investigating.
