Physique of suspected drowning sufferer recovered at Ottawa space seashore

OTTAWA — Police in Ottawa say they’ve recovered the physique of a 20-year-old man who went lacking whereas swimming at an area seashore.

Investigators say the person was with a bunch of individuals at Britannia Seashore when he went into the Ottawa River Saturday night. They are saying members of the group noticed the person go beneath the water and never resurface.

Members of the Ottawa Police Service Marine, Dive and Trails Unit have been known as in to assist seek for the person.

The search continued into Sunday morning and police say that at roughly 1:40 a.m. divers recovered the person’s physique.

The sufferer’s title is being withheld pending notification of his subsequent of kin.

Police say an investigation is underway to find out precisely what occurred and that disaster unit counsellors are helping the witnesses.
