Cop tried to ‘get rid’ of Kaizer Chiefs boss Bobby Motaung’s fraud case, Zondo fee hears


Controversial Hawks colonel Welcome Mhlongo in 2015 tried to squash the fraud, theft and tender-rigging case towards Kaizer Chiefs soccer supervisor Bobby Motaung associated to the R1.2bn Mbombela Stadium case.

This was revealed on the state seize inquiry on Friday by the Nationwide Prosecuting Authority’s Terence Joubert.

The case pertains to Motaung and his enterprise associates having allegedly falsified a tax certificates for the design of the stadium, in addition to faking a municipal council letter, amongst different prices.

Joubert instructed the Zondo fee colleague had complained to him in 2015 about strain he was dealing with from Mhlongo to eliminate the case towards Motaung.
