Former Bombardier CEO Alain Bellemare joins Delta Air Traces

Alain Bellemare, who stepped down as CEO of Bombardier Inc. last May after a five-year term that saw the company sell off most of its assets, has been named to the manager of Delta Air Traces, the world’s high airline when it comes to income and No. 2 in passengers carried.

On Wednesday, Delta introduced Bellemare had been named president-international of the American airline.

“With deep worldwide expertise working multibillion-dollar aerospace organizations, Alain will lead our portfolio of worldwide investments — working carefully with our companions as they get better from the pandemic,” CEO Ed Bastian wrote in a statement. “Alain’s purpose can be to make sure Delta and our companions emerge as stronger and extra resilient world manufacturers.”

Since leaving Bombardier, Bellemare was an adviser with Carlyle Group.
