The Sûreté du Québec arrested three former academics final week on expenses of assaulting their pupils in faculties throughout the province.
The abuse is alleged to have taken place between 1953 and 1982 in church-run faculties in Montreal, Rawdon and in Havre-Saint-Pierre in Quebec’s Côte-Nord area.
Suspects Jean-Maurice O’Leary, 82, Claude Gariépy, 73, and one other man, aged 93, have been arrested and charged with gross indecency and little one abuse.
Although many victims have come ahead, an investigation is ongoing.
