I-10 East westbound lanes shutdown after barge strikes San Jacinto River bridge


The westbound lanes of Interstate 10 headed into Houston are shutdown following a barge hanging a bridge, in accordance with the Metropolis of Baytown.

The accident occurred round four:00 p.m. on Monday on the San Jacinto River Bridge.

The Metropolis of Baytown initially tweeted that lanes have been closed in each instructions because of a barge hitting and damaging the bridge.

The Eastbound lanes have been reportedly re-opened a short time later.
