Man and lady charged after police vehicles rammed in Tweed Heads

The ute allegedly drove at police autos that had been blocking its exit, crashing into one and backing into one other earlier than rushing off.

No officers had been injured within the incident and the ute was discovered deserted a short while later.

Following investigations, police arrested an 18-year-old lady from Mackay on Florence Road, Tweed Heads, about 6.30pm, and a 20-year-old Mackay man, alleged to have been the motive force, at a Tweed Heads hospital simply earlier than 11pm.

The person was charged with a spread of offences, together with harmful driving and driving with out a licence. The girl was charged with being a passenger in a stolen car.

Each had been refused bail and set to seem in Lismore Bail Courtroom on Sunday.
