Police tasered and pepper sprayed a person who allegedly repeatedly rammed a stolen car right into a police automobile in Christchurch.

Police noticed the stolen car on Moorhouse Ave at 10.15pm on February 14, and adopted it to Fitzgerald Ave, the place it pulled right into a driveway, a police spokeswoman mentioned.

When the police automobile pulled in behind the car, the driver allegedly reversed into the police automobile a number of occasions. The driving force then exited the automobile and commenced behaving aggressively in the direction of officers, police mentioned. 

Officers used a taser and pepper spray on the person, the spokeswoman mentioned.

The 31-year-old man was transported to hospital as a precaution.

He has since been remanded in custody and can seem in courtroom on Monday on expenses together with resisting police, driving whereas disqualified, harmful driving, unlawfully taking a motorcar, intentional harm, and failing to cease, the spokeswoman mentioned.

One police car was extensively broken in the course of the incident, whereas one other was reasonably harm.
