HARRISON COUNTY, Texas — Troopers responded to a one car deadly crash on SH-43, on January 12 at about 1 a.m.
The crash occurred two miles south of the town of Marshall in Harrison County. The motive force and passengers had been Marshall ISD highschool college students.
In accordance with the Texas Division of Public Security, the driving force Latavian Jackson, 18, was touring north on SH-43 at an unsafe velocity on the moist roadway. The car hydroplaned and traveled off the highway, and struck a tree on the rear passenger aspect.
Jackson was transported to LSU Medical Shreveport in severe situation.
A passenger recognized as Derick Bennett, 17, was transported to Christus Good Shepherd in essential situation. DPS say he later died.
A second passenger, recognized as a 16-year-old male, was additionally transported to Christus Good Shepherd in steady situation.
The third passenger was recognized as a 16-year-old male was pronounced useless on the scene.
