Nurse remembers ‘humble’ Mthembu’s final moments

The nurse who handled minister within the Presidency Jackson Mthembu has detailed how medical doctors tried to resuscitate him in his final moments.

Mavis Mahlakwane, a nurse on the Milpark Hospital in Parktown, Johannesburg, informed mourners throughout Mthembu’s funeral in eMalahleni, Mpumalanga, that he was admitted to the ability on January 19 at 9pm and examined optimistic for Covid-19.

Mahlakwane started taking good care of Mthembu the following day. She described him as pleasant.

She stated Mthembu was a calm and humble one that didn’t need to be known as minister throughout their interactions.

“I requested him what he want to eat and he informed me that his spouse would convey him meals, I mustn’t fear,” Mahlakwane stated.

Mthembu’s spouse, Thembi, introduced him a fruit salad and likewise gave him cheese. After having his meal, Mthembu informed Mahlakwane that his spouse had introduced him “the very best meals ever”.

Mahlakwane stated she would have conversations with Mthembu and it felt like they’d recognized one another for a while.
