After months of contract negotiations with the province, the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec (FIQ) has launched a hard-edged advert marketing campaign that zeroes in on the Legault authorities and warns “les soins de santé sont à l’agonie; nous sommes la resolution” (well being care is dying; we’re the answer).
Nancy Bédard, president of the 76,000-member union that represents nurses and different well being professionals, doesn’t care if the slogan raises the hackles of the Legault authorities, even when it’s being unveiled within the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It isn’t a slogan — it’s actuality,” she stated. “We’ve bought to cease saying that all the things goes ‘not too unhealthy.’ ”
Bédard stated that whereas the aim of the marketing campaign was to not intentionally irritate Premier François Legault, who has already criticized the FIQ for different work actions taken in the course of the pandemic, she not has phrases “to explain how fragile the well being system has turn out to be.”
