On-duty detective mugged whereas investigating murder, police say

Two armed males attacked and robbed an on-duty Chicago police detective as he investigated a current murder within the South Shore neighborhood Monday night, in keeping with CPD. One suspect is in custody.

“Emergency, squad! Emergency, gimme some assist,” the injured officer’s associate radioed seconds after the assault at 7:10 p.m. “They tried to rob my associate.”
