Sonny Invoice Williams’ Toronto Wolfpack withdraws from Tremendous League restart


Toronto: The Canadian rugby league crew of New Zealand star Sonny Invoice Williams has withdrawn from the Tremendous League mid-way by its first season in Europe’s top-tier competitors, citing “overwhelming monetary challenges” attributable to the coronavirus pandemic.

Toronto Wolfpack mentioned on Monday the choice was taken due to a “vary of things particular to the membership as the one transatlantic crew within the league”.

They included lowered income from tickets, sponsorship, merchandise and game-day enterprise following the lack of all 11 of the crew’s house video games throughout the shutdown of the league since March.

“The Wolfpack could be left protecting vital extra prices merely to finish a season of video games within the UK together with COVID testing, stadium leases, medical prices and participant pay will increase to align with the remainder of the league,” the membership mentioned.
