Advance polling is being held Sunday and Monday in City of Mount Royal’s referendum on a brand new municipal sports activities complicated.

The plebiscite on the future of the $48.6-million project is being held after 938 residents signed a register in November to oppose a bylaw to borrow $27.eight million for the development.

The complicated is to accommodate two indoor swimming pools, a fitness center, indoor working monitor, weight rooms, studios and house for neighborhood teams.

T.M.R. has mentioned it might get a provincial subsidy, so the challenge’s anticipated web price is $41.four million.

It says the challenge received help from residents, athletic associations and neighborhood organizations throughout consultations in 2016.

The city can be planning a marketing campaign to boost a further $2 million to $three million from the non-public sector.

Opponents have mentioned they’d help a sports activities complicated so long as it didn’t increase their taxes. In addition they query whether or not the challenge can have enough parking.

Advance polling will probably be held on Sunday and Monday, from 12 p.m. to eight p.m., on the Mount Royal City Corridor, 90 Roosevelt Ave.

Common polling will probably be held Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to eight p.m. at 4 places. Go to the city’s website for extra info.
