Tehran has confirmed that an Iranian-owned oil tanker, the Sinopa, was attacked within the Purple Sea, and that the mysterious strike induced an oil spill. The vessel was reportedly hit by two missiles.
Iran’s International Ministry on Friday mentioned that the tanker was “struck twice in half an hour from the jap facet of the Purple Sea,” however didn’t elaborate on the kind of missile or munition used within the assault. The incident reportedly occurred 60 miles from the Saudi port of Jeddah.
